Re: Post cards from Llandow........
Had a fantastic day with you all. Thanks to everyone who helped from spannering to getting me on the bike and launch/catch. Hope that Ed and Dennis are both healing up quickly, thankfully it wasn't any worse for either of you. Looking forward to meeting you again soon. We are always on the lookout for helpers at the Bike Experience days (always a wednesday at Castle Combe). I need six buddies every time, will post up dates on separate topic. Many thanks once again, see you soon.

Re: Post cards from Llandow........
for those interested, dennis - the busa surfer - has posted up. on wiltshire bikers. he appears to be a little more broken than originally thought
copied from the thread;
"My actual demise came about from pushing the breaking as I was coming into the chicane, which would not be a problem if it were me alone, however things got a whole lot more complicated when I found a bike in front of me slowing to go through the chicane. I think the Busa said enough is enough and the front slid out from under me under the heavy breaking and away we went Lips Sealed So basically all my fault can't blame anything but my poor judgement. Embarrassed
"Now for the repercussions, apparently I don't bounce as well as I thought Grin. Went to RUH A&E on Friday and found that I have a fractured metacarpal in my left hand and shattered a couple metatarsals in my right foot, they can't see anything broken in the right hand but the swelling is just as bad a the left. They kept me over night to make sure the swelling in both hands and foot did not cause any more complications. It was very interesting sleeping with my both hands and right foot slung up in the air. Grin I managed to sleep but more importantly I made other people in the room suffer with my loud snoring. One poor kid kept shouting for me to "clear my nose" while the others just suffered in silence (not).
I have to see the consultant on Thursday to arrange surgery to put the bones in my foot back together. The left hand should be fine without surgery but will need a splint. They wanted to keep me in the hospital until Monday but I could not torture the others with my snoring so I came home promising to rest and keep my limbs elevated. I have to go in on Monday to let them redo the casts as hopefully the swelling will have gone down by then. Both hands are still swollen but things are improving so hopefully all will progress smoothly. I have found that once I don't move there is very little pain to complain about so I have not been on any pain killers which must be promising."
ouch
