I've been told I've no been initiated as a true biker now. All I can say is I thank my stars I was in full gear. Only thing truly hurt is my thumb and my baby.

I came off my bike yesterday
So will be out of action for a while, I've broken my thumb and slid the bike on her left side, ruining the lowers I'd just put on her
I'd happily ride her again its done nothing to put me off its just ruined my day

I don't ride at present, came off and can't wait to be back on.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Re: I came off my bike yesterday
You’ll find there is never a true initiation into riding motorcycles, admittedly the more off’s you encounter the smarter rider you’ll become, but if you like sports bikes you will ‘never’ find the limit your happy with, even when your at your best it’ll never be quite quick enough, and so it goes. Give it a couple of years and you will have forgotten all about your recent off, you’ll be getting quicker and thinking ‘yeh I can do this’, then suddenly, ‘smack’ your down the road again.
Pleased to hear you’ve walked away from this one, but take it from someone who has suffered from numerous off’s, (broken arms, pelvis, ribs, wrists, maxillary, eye socket and jaw), and worst of all, watched as many of my ride-out pals have been hauled away to hospital by helicopter, if you truly enjoy riding, unfortunately your gonna come to grief big style sooner or later.
So don’t worry too much about the state of you machine, it really is your health you should be concerning yourself with!
Good luck,
Christopher.

If your not riding on the edge then your taking up too much room !

Re: I came off my bike yesterday
Sorry to here about your off, glad to here your ok. I think you'll find most of us (not all) have had a tumble or two. Personally I'd avoid going on a ride out with gudgeon. Seems like a nice enough fella but if you've had that many offs including friends in choppers, think I'd sooner stay at home & smash myself in the face with a hammer.
Re: I came off my bike yesterday
What a crap thing to say!!! So unless you've had a massive off at some point, you havent been TRULY enjoying riding??? Pah, tosh..gudgeon pin wrote:if you truly enjoy riding, unfortunately your gonna come to grief big style sooner or later.

Re: I came off my bike yesterday
Glad your ok buddy. Just get older and wiser mate. Been riding since '89 had all the styles of bikes going (apart from cruisers) still learning ,if you think you know it all your gonna kill yourself.
Had a few tumbles and one bad off .
We all know the risks we take but only after a crash do you realise how hard that bloody road is. But you only get better by putting the miles in. Maybe do a track day I never have but may treat myself to one for my 40th

Re: I came off my bike yesterday
Glad ur ok & hope u & bike both mend soon. Least it hasn't put you off, so far i've had two spills, one of which was avoidable & quite a learning curve, but hell i was enjoying every second until the last few...and have to admit, still would rate 2 wheels over 4 ! One thing i did find was alchol is a gr8 pain reliever ; ) .. The other was that road side barriers aren't very receptive to fleeting cuddles.
