Don't know if anyone was at Castle Combe on Saturday for the Probike National Race Meeting, I took my camera and a 120 to 400mm Sigma lens to play with. First time I have had chance to use it so had to get used to the panning against weight. All images were taken free hand with no support. Pretty surprised at how good the lens works

I was there too. Sidecars were awaesome.
I used a Canon 350D with 300mm lens.
Will post up if I got any good ones.
Cracking days racing and superb atmosphere. Plus we stayed locally and had a few beers after the race.
Hopefully they will get the 2 weekends of racing next year.

I was with dad! wish id posted about it! could have met up for a chat nd a coffee!
That kid on the 43 was on fire! I was a little disappointed, while I enjoy seeing the historic stuff there was waaaaaaaaaaaay too much of it, and not enough superbikes. They need to rethink it for next year

Nahh its nice to see the old stuff being taken out. I think they are limited on what they could have, but it was a good mix from the 848 Cup, desmo duo's etc. Even Sidecars. It was a full day from 08:30 all way to 18:00. We got there just after nine as practive laps were going on. The boys introduction to bike racing live was very well catered for a first visit.M3verick wrote:I was with dad! wish id posted about it! could have met up for a chat nd a coffee!

DId you see the poor sod on the ZXR400 coming off... His head bounced off the grass and luckily he walked away. Have a poor quality image of his head hitting the grass... Thank god it wasn't Tarmac. I'm sure he was fighting for the lead in the afternoon when they were out again. They kept saying about the ZXR400 showing up the bigger bikes.

Re: Castle Combe Probike National Race Meeting Images
Were were standing at the esses when that happened, only a small low side. More of a shame it happened on the last lap. I agree, its nice to see them out however... this is castle combes only bike meeting and other than the 848 cup there was no real racing. It was more like a track day than a race meeting personally, last year I think they had NG there which is a much better/ more competitive series. Dont get me wrong a great days racing and I love CC however if they had more bike meetings I dont think it would be as well supported.

Re: Castle Combe Probike National Race Meeting Images
I just love watching bikes and getting the buzz of the paddock so I think for 15 quid it was a good day. I will definitely go next year and hope they get 2 meets.
The best thing about the old stuff was the lean angles they were achieving. I've seen people on modern stuff at track days that cant get that much lean. Awesome.
The guy on the ZXR won the last race in the open class on a last minute dash to the line. The bike he beat was a 250 2 stroke. Brilliant.
