As above - DIY

Rub it down well and give it a spray of satin black. I've found PJ1 engine paint to be very good. With this weather, warm the item to be sprayed gently with a hairdryer (speak to an R1 owner for one of those) and warm the rattle can in a jug of hot water - the paint sprays much better when warmed, and settles better on the item being sprayed with a reduced risk of running. Plenty of light coats rather than one or two thick ones :-bd

I believe hairdryers are the weapon of choice for gixxer riders.

Smootherite do a satin black which is a good match - I've done the side stand on the Hayabusa and it looks original.

Be careful using it on aluminium, build up with very very light coats and do each coat in the time specified on the tin. It can be wierd stuff, I have had it react with itself when left too long between coats as it seems to go into a curing process.
