not surprised, whenever I've been to their shops their gear is overpriced and when they have a sale it doesn't seem to be on anything that you'd wanna buy nor are the prices much better...

The helmet I've been looking at in there was £10 more than the other more local motorcycle shop...

Thats not what made them less competitive as its only a tenner, BUT the other shop throws in £50-60 of accessories with it making it about £70 more to get the same thing

They've put this up on the Hein Gericke site, look out for some bargains !

"Due to difficult trading conditions the Hein Gericke group is saddened to share the news that Hein Gericke UK is now trading in administration whilst the future of the UK operation is determined and hopefully secured. All 47 stores are open and a closing down sale with massive price cuts is being launched in-store, further details will be available via this website in the coming hours."

it's a shame that this store has gone under (in uk). although it seems the prices were elevated and not everyone got what they wanted it still puts the motorcylist i the poo. As more of these stores close down the prices in the ones still trading slowly creep up as the competition fades away. make the most of any sales as soon it will be a case that sadly everything is out of reach and cheap and nasty is all thats available - still at high prices.

I gave the branch nearest me a call and was told as it stands they are doing 15% off the majority of items, he said they have been given very strict guidelines and cannot do any better discount...

So not that great of a sale

Thought I'd give them another call regarding the sale now that the website has been updated with "huge reductions"

The helmet I've been interested in they will only do 10% on making it £387
However the closer shop that stocks shoei has it for £419 + free pinlock of your choice (£22 on helmet city) and a free wisper strip (£30-33 on helmet city)

So for the same thing I'd still end up paying £438 (instead of £419.99) and have no aftersales possibilities... some sale

The chap did say to me that the own brand stuff is the only stuff that is reduced by any worth while amount.
