Rural petrol Allowance? anyone know anything?

Post by badgerKDD »

I heard on the ' Vague News' this week about the government asking Europe if they will allow a 5p p/l reduction in fuel duty on further rural areas, they mentioned some 'Oop North' areas and Devon?

Firstly, does anyone know anymore details? and secondly was it just the 'News' report ignoring Cornwall ( as Usual :evil: ) or are we not included? I know Cornwall is a sprawling urban mega center :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ but W.T.F :-o !

Finally, what's it got to do with Europe? Cameron could wipe 5 pence per litre off the Tax off his own back, if he had some testicles :evil: :evil: :evil:

Apparently the only place in the South West being considered is Lynton, of all places. Several others were ruled out. There are very strict criteria these sites have to meet apparently ... ( probably something to do with marginal conservative seats?) ......

the hole country needs a cut in fuel prices, its a blody joke and costs me in excess of £100 a week just to get to work at times.

And I would presume its 5p more a ltr there anyway, so it'll just bring it back in line with most other places :roll:

I log-in & use the following to source the best local deal;

http://www.petrolprices.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then you need to decide how much fuel you USE travelling to fill up! :roll:

Barbrook Petrol Station - as posted above, probably at least 5p per litre more than anywhere else.

The Lands End Trial uses it as a night time fuel stop, wonder if the rural allowance will be forgotten 2 o'clock in the morning when no locals are around.

Living in Lynton myself :8o)): I should benefit from this. Sad fact is, with the reduction, it's still 5p more then Barnstaple.

Well that's the usual bullshit then, so the rest of the countryside around Lynton, or Devon (as its often referred to ;) ) and the other bit of countryside surrounded by the sea ( or Cornwall, some have been known to call it) are no longer classed as RURAL :-o :-o :-o !

Well I'm glad the Conservatives think Cornwall is a Urban environment, maybe they'll let us build a race track to keep the yoofff off the streets, doing gang banging and other such Urban crime.....an Ting ;) .....

I feel a rant to my local MP coming on ;) ........

Aren't you in hiding from the culling going on anyway? Surely a badger going around driving a tractor would raise suspicion?
