I have fitted motobatt AGM batteries to my bikes with electric starts, they put out more power and the charge lasts longer , they are sealed but not gel , the acid is absorbed in Fibre glass , the honda 650 single cranks over 50% faster i reckon than using a standard battery

I'm still using Yuasa on my gixxer with no problems, but I'd be interested in the batteries that Merv recommends, anything that happily turns over a big Single has got to be good ;)

I've got a Varta on the KTM. Got a discount on it and it was half the price or more of the equivalent Yuasa. My Reg/Rec generally fails before my battery and ends boiling the battery to death anyway!

Just put a new Motobatt in my trumpet (yesterday). The standard Yuasa was goosed and I now believe they are made in China and are actually shite. The Motobatt is superb, not only does it turn over quicker but it lasts a lot longer as the bike has to live outside. Go for the Motobatt ^:)^

Obviously not made in the same factory then. I meant that they are now shite because of the factory used.

Just to emphasise my point

A few lithium batteries around if you want to shed some weight. Advantages and disadvantages though, have a Google.

I ended up using a Motobatt. Was cheaper and seems to do the job fine. Didnt need messing around with. Just plug in and go.
