Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Rural Roads Rideout - REVISED DATE, SUNDAY 16TH AUG' 2015.

Post by Robbo87 »

ANOTHER apology due methinks  ! The CORRECT date for this rideout is SUNDAY THE 16TH!!!! Sorry for the confusion and thanks to all who pointed out the typo ^:)^
(Thinks ....... 'Must get my money back from the School of Elementary Proof Reading')

Also please see any other extra additions/amendents in BOLD.

Hello all,

I know my area of the southwest well ('specialy the fun bike roads); would like to share some of it, and to that end I've put together a minor-A-road and B-road-based rideout route taking in parts of Northwest Somerset and Northeast Devon. It'll be around 130 miles of 'B' and 'minor (mostly) A' roads, guaranteeing traffic-free(mostly) open roads and some great Devon & Somerset scenery.

Here's my plan outline:
NEW DATE - SUNDAY 16TH AUGUST.(Had ANOTHER major senior moment there and completely forgot about BSB on the 2nd and the typo  !)
Start - Taunton 1000 hrs.
Finish - Exeter M5 Services whenever.
No limit on the number of bikes.
It's to be a 'semi-spirited' ride so bikes 400cc and above - sorry you superkeen 125cc-ers! If this one works I'd like to do a 'Friendly' later in the year to make up.
Pillions welcome but please bear in mind the above criteria.
We'll use the 'drop off' system.
I will include at least one 're-grouping' point (approx' 22 miles in)
We'll be stopping for a snack (& cake Mr nom8s!) @ approx' 75 miles.
Fuel @ approx' 90 miles.
Final re-group (possibly), approx' 118 miles.

1. To gauge interest, please add your name below if you're up for this.
2. Once enough names are listed (a half-dozen should do it) I will confirm the start venue and (a.m.) time, also any other relevant info', and post on the forum; I would hope to do this by SUNDAY 9TH AUGUST at the latest - sooner if I have enough takers.
3. Finish time - arbitrary of course as peeps may want to peel off toward the end and head from whence they came.
4. Riders may join at any point en route - see 5. below.
5. Please pm or email me with any questions, now or at any time before the event, or also pm or email me for written route details (no map - sorry, I'm not very p.c. aware, in both senses!)
6. I aim to be at the July 18th SWB pub meet and look forward to seeing some of you there.

List
Robbo87 - Phil.
Gaulbladder - Andy (+1?)

Perhaps admin could add a poll as this clashes with Thruxton, with a few other dates, seems we can't add poll's?
If you don't ask, you don't get !

Only the thread Creator can generate a poll.
This Rideout is not being organised by admin it's being done by phil. His route, his day.

Maybe he doesn't want to do thruxton

Maybe you could post up another Rideout of your own for a different day.
