Hello from Sturminster Newton

Post by green_hodgeheg »

Hello !

:oops: I'm new to the biking scene down here having been in Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Am currently looking for a new bike after a break, preferably a Z750 or even ZRX12.

Welcome. Nice to see another North Dorset pin on the map.

Shame you're not after a ZX9-R. Andy900 owns, or has owned, all the zx9s in Britain and sometimes sells them to Forum members at competitive rates.

Hello and welcome, look out for Smiler coming along and saying hello, she will probably get you into all sorts of trouble ( track days, racing and cake....lots of cake :D ).

Thanks ! I am still looking for a bike to go and look at so that's cheered me up. I want a z750 or a z1000, but most of all I want a ZRX 11 or 12. There's a 12 near Yeovil but I can't go looking til later next week. Wail.
Went out with the local bike school on a CBR today and had fun but boy was it cold.....

What bike meets are there round here ?

True Lover's Knot at Tarrant Keynestone on Thurdays. Not sure if its started yet. Not a bad turnout but small and the pub is bloody expensive.

Poole Quay, of course, Tuesdays. Not sure when that starts either.

Henstridge Airfield Bikers Blash night. $th wednesday of every moth starting June I think. http://www.bikersblast.com/gallery" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And I see I've made it onto the gallery. That's me scooting along on the KTM SMT. Fame at last.

Then there's the "Not Poole" bike night, also Tuesdays at Begad Bikes, Cranborne. Nice run out that from Stur. Haven't been to that one yet. Must make the effort this year.
http://www.bugad.com/not-poole-quay.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Our area really needs a good pub meet after the sad demise of the Hunters Lodge last year.

If you fancy a ride out to one of these dos when you've got your bike, let me know. I'm only the other side of the hill from Stur.
