Thanks for this heads up John.

I read it that the old Severn bridge will be open during the day on Friday 21st, but closed from 0600 hrs from Saturday 22nd until 0600 hrs on Monday 24th. Meaning that we're o.k.for the Friday run up, but will need to use the new Severn bridge for the trip back on Sunday 23rd.

Here's the relevent section from the link that John posted above:
The work, which includes constructing a central reservation, installing kerbs, gullies and signage as well as safety fencing and barriers, resurfacing and road marking will require two weeks of full overnight closures between 8pm and 6am each night from Monday, 10 June until Monday, 24 June.

Two full weekend closures are also required:

6am Saturday 15 June to 6am Monday 17 June
6am Saturday 22 June to 6am Monday 24 June

Drivers are asked to use the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge as an alternative route.
Triumph Sprint ST 1050.

Popped in to say hello. The southern illegal aliens were running late due to M5 traffic and avg. 50 cameras.

Weather looking good when I left them at 1240 having a leg stretch
Have you noticed that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a maniac ?

Thanks to y'all for being such great company :-bd

Sorry that despite the best will in the world we couldn't stay tightly together in Abergavenny on the way home but I had a very urgent need to get to the Oasis cafe (toilets  ) and hoped that I had got the message to everyone that we were stopping there but we saw three of our partners in grime sailing by. Hope it was a minor hiccup in the whole weekend - the group splitting early, not my cider evacuation break

Anyways, I had a cracking weekend so roll on the next one 8)

Big thanks to Brian of the Ptolemyx persuasion for organising and leading (mostly!) a fantastic weekend in the Welsh Wales mountains and valleys :-bd :-bd . Hope it gets to be a regular thing.

A big thanks also to the team of impromptu SWB pit lane mechanics who put their collective shoulders to the wheel - almost literaly - in Abergaveny on the way way home and got me started after the Triumph gremlins hit. It was payback time from the Aprilia gods for selling the Fut' I reckon . Anyway, once going, it was a case of keeping it going and stopping for nowt. Got home at 1250 hrs, stopped engine, unloaded luggage, turned on ignition and . . . . . it started again perfectly and is charging nicely thank you with no sign that anything was ever wrong; I hate bike and car electrickery X( !
Check out the forum pic's section, I'll have some photo's of the weekend on there dreckly.

Awesome weekend... Thanks boys n girls for such great entertainment and ultimately Big Brian for arranging it. First proper dry bike trip for a little while. Awesome company, awesome routes and awesome new faces in the form of Brian's Brummy fans (sorry, Black Country) :D =))

Just want to echo my thanks to the SWB crew and especially Brian for not only organising the digs but also selflessly leading every route thereby missing out on the various shenanigans going on behind...... Ahem.

The Brummy interlopers added an extra dimension to the rideouts!

Dry all the way home until I got to Exeter when it threw it down all the way to Torquay. Ah well, it'll loosen some of the Welsh bugs splattered all over the bike.
