It would have been the fact he didnt reply which made the fine go that high. My dad got caught then sent away to Iraq (he's in the Royal Marines) he obveously didnt get the letter and he had a similar fine for not providing information. He tried to fight against it so they gave him 6 points instead of 3  And SUPRISE SUPRISE he was caught on the M4 too

Hearing things like this really makes me wonder what the hell is going on with this country. Its just pathetic when its not your fault you can't reply in time, and you just cannot win when you appeal can you? So even fighting for your country isn't a good enough excuse.

OUCH! That sucks big time. Is there no way to appeal?

bad luck matt - if u have a valid reason for not providing the info then i'd appeal if not afraid you'll have to put it down to experience.

On the plus side at least still only 3 points if they'd given u more points would have a greater impact on insurance - i'm lucky my insurance company love me having 6 points, much better than the 9 i had before :-) :-)
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck

Dood when was the fine actually issued, cos if you were caught before xmas and you just recieved it ... When was it sent to your previous address? Just wondering because if they didn't send it to you within 2 weeks of the offence then your not liable.

Tough one mate. The fixed cameras as so S#it. I got caught doing 125mph on the A38, weaving in and out of traffic on a busy afternoon by an unmarked and get ?60 3PP big bollocking and put down as 98Mph :D
Not that I am proud of it.
