Re: riding this weekend?
Me & the good lady were out yesterday.
Out over to Minehead, grabbed some fuel & then on to Lymouth and finally back across Exmoor to home - 160 miles(ish) in total.
Was a bit achy towards the end but getting my riding stamina back.
Gonna do a longer one tomorrow I think, probably over to Bude.
I plan on getting a few rides in now to tide me over in case a second spike happens and we all get locked down again.

Re: riding this weekend?
Managed to get out on Bunny67 Superduke 990 on Thursday. First time that I have ridden a naked for any real distance and got to ride it the way i like to ride at my own pace just to try and get used to the bike and riding a twin. Did from Teignmouth to Holsworthy through the usual lovely a roads an country side. Was a blood epic ride loved it.
Do I now love naked bikes = Yes (so easy to ride)
Am I ok with a twin = Yes
Would I want a twin as my own bike = Maybe not still prefer a 3 of 4 pot.

Re: riding this weekend?
Part of the trick is learning not to ride a twin like a four - use higher gears and enjoy the torque and midrange rather than revving it lots. The relaxed nature of a twin is much easier to live with on the roads, you’re not always looking for another gear.

Re: riding this weekend?
You can also make good pace without sounding like you are, another feature of a big twin that can be very relaxing.

Re: riding this weekend?
The big difference that I have noticed is that been 4000 and 8000 revs the torque and the drive is totally the same. On everything else i have ridden you get a power curve and as you go up the revs you get a greater acceleration. Its a very different feeling as you bang up the box as you have no sense of speed change it all stays at the same pull...
Its defiantly a different type of ride. Biggest complaint is how vibie it is my feet are numb by the time i get home don't get that on a 3 or 4 pot.
But hey its got 2 wheels and an engine and the suspension and handling is excellent so not going to complain to much.
