Well that’s embarrassing - clothing repairs

Post by menzies3032 »

Ok so as many of you will know I am not the smallest guy in the world and rather then going for the flat 6 pack stomach I tend to work the Keg look. x_x

However it seems some extra lock down weight has not helped getting back into biking gear and following a ride on Sunday I got home to find my phone that was in my pocket for the ride had burst a hole in my jacket  due to the continual pressure from my fat gut.

Which give me a chance to remind everybody that if you didn’t know we have access to an amazing motorbike seamstress called LWR Gerry based in Plymouth read all about her services here

Have given her a quick call and she booked me in straight away.

Yup looks great on the bit of paper.... actually seem to remember that you asked for it back for somebody else. Many many great intentions but when it comes to exercise my body just seems to say “no”

But on the good note,

I've lost weight this year :) and now lots of my bike gear is too big. :(
I need a smaller textile jacket, jeans and some leather trousers to match my jacket.

A few years back.... (ok about 8) I went from 16 stone to 13 stone 6 and none of my biking gear fitted me at all went down to Gerry and she totally remodelled my leathers (separate trousers and jacket) for about £100 so that it was a perfect fit. If you like you leathers and not looking to change you might want to consider giving her a call.

Might be an idea for the trousers of my 2 piece suit.
The jeans & textile jacket I'll just sell on and then buy replacements.

Having just read your post on ' How safe is your gear' I'd say not very! If a mobile phone puts a whole that big in a seem think what 70mph down the road will do. Maybe time for something new not mend and make do?

Its not the seam that's gone though, its the fabric itself isn't it? You can see material left along the line of the stitching, its the material to the side of that that's torn?
