IMHO it’s too big a commitment for Simon to take on; the trackday regulars amongst SWB will do it regardless, but those for whom Llandow was a SWB day out not far from home to ride with their mates probably won’t be tempted. One of the appeals of the Llandow days, even for a trackday regular as I used to be, was its relaxed social atmosphere, everyone was part of a community and anyone riding like a dick risked being ostracised. They weren’t “serious” like a normal trackday, literally nobody took them seriously (in terms of fine-tuning set-up and chasing the perfect lap - which trackdays aren’t supposed to be about anyway but people still tie themselves in knots chasing hundredths of a second off their PB lap). As has been pointed out, it was always difficult to sell out the Fast group and now the groups would be double the previous size so the SWB contingent would be 50% at most of the attendees, or more likely 30% or fewer.

I think the best option would be to choose a regular day and all the SWB riders sign up for that.

I don't think we'd be able to sell enough places ... and if we do there will be so many non-SWBers there that it will feel much like a normal track day anyway .... so I think a better alternative will be to sign-up to a normal track day and try to get a few pit garages where SWBers can be together.

As I will be (all things being equal) in Greece on 5th Sept then I won't vote. But I would say that Bedford is a spot on choice and if I wasn't away I would have said 100% YES. Two of my mates are very interested because it's not Llandow. Excellent choice and I hope it becomes the annual choice. But I note the fact that it's a big commitment for swb to make.

If I've got another bike then I'll have a whirl there ... depends how much money the wife & i "spunk" in Amsterdam at end of August

The R6 is going up for sale Feb/March time and I do plan on buying a track hack, depends what's around at that time as may have to wait for end of season to get a good deal

As much as it would be great I don't think the numbers stack up. It would be to much for swb to outlay and keep track of. Maybe better just to arrange for people who wanna go to Bedford for that date.

That date itself isn't on their calendar, it's a Private hire day.
They are of course running other days.

OK, o now the votes are in and it's been decided that we will not be doing our own private day at Bedford i will contact them to let them know we won't be continuing with the enquiry.

Now i guess people post up where they are off to and see what happens with others joining in.

I will be looking at a trip to Pembrey and also Bedford over the better months, of course anyone who wants to join in is more than welcome.
