You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.
Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Keep the chain replace the bike.royb wrote: ↑Jul 28th, '22, 10:10 Could be up for this Brian but have a clicking noise from the bandit chain. It has only done 30,000 miles. Do you think it needs changing?![]()

If I solve this problem see you at the toll house outside Chard. If not there then I will not have fixed it and won't be coming - don't wait and have a good ride.

New chain on, see you Brian and Richard at Chard toll house. Has had engine oil wiped over it with a cashmere scarf as per Si's recommendation. If it behaves properly, me thinks this chain will see me out.Tvrv37 wrote: ↑Jul 28th, '22, 13:58Keep the chain replace the bike.royb wrote: ↑Jul 28th, '22, 10:10 Could be up for this Brian but have a clicking noise from the bandit chain. No, I'll live with the sprockets that are on even though, I accept others may disagree.

Re: Friday 29th July
Good for you Roy. Just reverse each sprocket so that the hooked teeth face the other way and they'll see you out too
Triumph Sprint ST 1050.
Re: Friday 29th July
Already done that Phil but for a different reason. The 180 x 60 x 17 rear tyre was rubbing the chain so reversed the recessed sprocket (2mm) to gain clearance for the tyre. Probably slight misalignment but hey ho it's not the end of the world and the bandit can live with it.
The tyre certainly can.
Re: Friday 29th July
Thanks for leading Brian and thanks to Roy for bullying me about my rear light.
I've since decided that you're probably right so I'm now shopping for LEDs.
About the ride...
Traffic was shit, route was OK, coffee stop was nice, company was great, as was the weather.. so all in all not too bad.
See you on the next one guys.

Did you say the traffic was shit....no it was hypershit. Of course we could have set out at 04.00...
Roy needs "real" new tyres now in any case. Far more important than Richard's feeble tail light being upgraded.
