I use a damp cloth and a soft dry cloth. I never remove the pinloc once it's fitted, i find it doesn't seal as well when refitted.

Sometimes you need to turn the cams to get the pinlock to seal, you shouldn't be able to push a piece of paper between the two parts.

If that's the case then it wasn't fitted properly, as stated above use the cams to get a good seal.

I know this section says no silly questions but…
How diluted are we talking? And did you use a cloth or a sponge?

As diluted as if you were doing the washing up. Very light use of a clean sponge on insert and visor. Rinse off under a running cold tap. Do not dry with a cloth but leave to air dry. When I refit my pinlock I make sure it's tight against the visor.

Careful with the cams if you have turned them to release the pin lock - they tend to chew up easily.

Ask me how I know 🙄

Not touched them so it will be ok. It’s now air drying.

The Pinlock system is really double glazing Doddy. You're aiming for an airtight seal around the complete circumference of it and you may well need to adjust the locating cams to achieve this. It's essential that both the Pinlock seal and the interior of the visor is perfectly clean and free from any obstruction - even the tiniest speck or smear will adversely affect that seal.
The best way to remove a Pinlock shield is to remove the visor from the helmet, lay it curved side down on a clean soft towel or similar and gently open it up by pressing on both ends until the Pinlock locating slots are free, paying attention to which locating slots in the shield is used. To replace the Pinlock, it's the reverse procedure. You may have to experiment with the different locating slots in the shield and also by adjusting the locating cams in the visor to get the perfect seal.

Agree with Robbo87 basically as suggested its double glazing for your visor if you don't have an air tight seal I would suggest that you might want to be thinking about getting another one. They are a bugger to fit and I have to say I always struggle but once in place really do a great job
