Rideout Sunday 30th March.

Post by Robbo87 »

Anyone fancy a toddle across Dartmoor with a brekky/snack/whatever in a bike dealers at Ashburton, then back toward Mid-Devon finishing with a coffee stop near Exeter?

START: From Exeter M5 Services EX2 7HF - top of car park next to the Costa Drive Thru and EV charging points.
TIMES: Meet at 09.45 hrs for an 10.00 hrs START. Please be fuelled up.
NOTES: (1) Dartmoor has a 40 mph speed limit of course so I'll be respecting that, also the 30 mph towns and villages, other than that I'll be making progress :)): , bearing in mind prevailing road conditions of course.
(2) If there's more than just a few of us we'll use the tried and tested 'drop-off system.
ROUTE: . . . . . Moretonhampstead, Two Bridges, Ashburton, Okehampton, Exbourne, Nth Tawton, finish at Cafe Earth - 101 miles.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/PG8P% ... FQAw%3D%3D (Ignore the route given from Tedburn St Mary, through Six Mile Hill and Heath Lane, it's a Google maps hitch and I'll be taking the usual road via Pathfinder Village)

Cripes Phil, another thing we have in common - my mum was a biker babe too. She particularly loved it on dad's Ariel square four 8)

After getting the ZH2's KTM impersonation  finally sorted I should be able to come out to play Sunday :-bd

So see folks bright and early at 10.00 hrs (BST) then :D .

Five came out to play for a gentle bimble, three greyones and two newbies. I had to peel off before the end to get back home for 14.00 in order to remain in Jane's good books - someone has to cook the turkey today =:)

Hope Phil, Al and the newbies (forgot names already  ) had fun for the last few miles :-bd

Thanks to SWB regulars Brian and Alan, SWB newbie Marcus and (hopefully) new SWB member Andrew for the company today.
The weather was superb, just what an English Spring day should be. The roads, especially across Dartmoor, were pretty quiet - it got a bit busier later but nothing a combined figure of nearly 700 bhp couldn't cope with! :D . I'll post a pic in the Photo's section - taken outside the Rainbow Cafe at Ashburton.

That's a conservative estimate Phil - "a combined figure of nearly 700 bhp" - an actual 229 at the wheel (ooh such a big willy) and two about 180 with another at 120ish with the versys's 65 totals 774
And none of us needed to use any more than 50 ponies on the ride but it's nice to know it's there when you want it
