After many weeks of mucking about i have decided to go for a new bit of tech. I was watching a biker YouTuber called "User Name Kate" (actually got to meet her once at the motorbike show) who was reviewing the "Aoocci C6 Pro" check out the vid here and also use the link to get 22% off if your planning on buying something
https://youtu.be/8yz2U4neATc?si=T8H8Qm_Xs-Np6gBt
the model she is reviewing is a bit like Apple car play but links to what looks a bit like a sat nav so that you can use all of the great features of your phone but on a purpose separate screen. It also comes with forward and rear cameras and tyre pressure monitors. I decided that i don't want the cameras on my bike so i have gone for the Aoocci C3 which is a different screen, quite a bit cheaper and still has the tyre pressure monitors.
Basically was getting upset with the BMW dash as the turn by turn navigation is ok but not great as you cant see a map and also i have missed a couple of phone calls when my phone has not connected to the dash. Also struggle to get my music apps working well so decided it was time to give something else a try..... will let you know how i get on.

Re: New tech for the bike
Well today was the first day that i had the opportunity to really get out and use the Aoocci C3 with it now wired into position and mounted. And WOW what a difference thought that the BMW screen and interface was good but in reality by comparison its nothing compared to the Aoocci. It was so cool today once i had set off being able to open "maps" from the screen, start the route guidance i had pre planned, then flip over and open Spotify and start playing a play list. then I started to get What's App messages that i could tap on the screen and Siri would read to me and that was then followed by me dictating a response all whilst riding and finally a phone call as well to discuss... the thing that was so great is the navigation announcements, the music and phone call was all seamless and would mute or stop whilst something else was happening so that it became a seamless experience all whilst being able to actually see a map of where i was riding and being able to follow the route i had planned.
super happy with this and looking forward to being able to use it more in 2026....
It does also change my perception of the BMW as this was a big selling point for the bike is how great the dash was/is. but now this means (should i wish to) i could move to another bike with a more simple dash and use the Aoocci to do everything i want it to do.
Today was a bit last minute but i saw that the weather today was going to be good with some clear sky's and 20 deg so i took the opportunity and booked that day as holiday and spent from 10am to 3pm on the bike riding... i had hoped to stop at Costa in Minehead but what i had not noticed is that it was closed for refurbishment so instead stopped at Tesco's and just grabbed a wrap before heading off again.

Re: New tech for the bike
IT all sounds very nice, but them it all sounds like many, many distractions from the road.
Being out on the road driving for most of the day you see how little attention people in cars pay to where they're going, what's going on around them and who they're cutting up etc.
Personally I think tech/distractions like this can only lead to a ride in the flashy wagon. Answering whatsapp messages and dictating replies instead of giving 100% of your attention to staying alive in an already fragile environment is quite a risk IMHO.
Won't be long until the law cracks down on these toys like they have in cars, then it'll be points, points, points for the lucky winner.
But that's just me, I don't get out as much as I'd like and I'm old. SO new tech makes me shake my head, rattle my cane and have another wurther.

Re: New tech for the bike
Thanks for the review Rob.
I've been looking at a few of these system as I'm thinking of ditching the Garmin on my adventure bike and fitting something else, like either an Android tablet or Aoocci C3 type clone.
I'd only use it for navigation as I already play music from my phone to my intercom, and have taken phone calls while riding but only when commuting to/from the ride area.

Re: New tech for the bike
If you like that kind of thing, fair enough, but I ride my bike to switch off and get away from the every-day crap in the world, not to hook up to it even further. Sometimes it's good to be "unreachable"

Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

Whilst driving the car I spend a good 80% of my time watching the speedo on anything other than where I can use either the speed limiter or cruise controlbillinom8s wrote: ↑Sep 20th, '25, 03:53

Ducaki- no it does not stays the same
DaveH - as Apple car play does not allow for a web browser that would be a no but of course would not want that level of distraction whilst riding. Music and satnav is more then enough.
