You won??t believe this
After a lovely day yesterday I settled down to do some serious study (assignment due in tomorrow and I haven??t started it yet! Doh!)
I sudden hear my alarm going off, I started to go down stairs and it stops so I??m imagining kids playing too close, etc. Then it goes off again. I get down stairs into my garden and my friend Mark tells me somebody has knocked it over!?!
A car reversed into it and knocked it over! I couldn??t believe it. Its parked just outside my house on a private bit of land behind my garden, clearly visible (even with a ??man working?? sign behind it!). Unfortunately to say a women was behind the wheel and she just didn??t see it. She was clearly embarrassed by the whole thing and has agreed to pay for any damage but as like most non-bikers they don??t realise how much damage to our machines can cost.
It has bent the clutch leaver and it seems to have loosened the mechanisms, scratched the handle bar end, the mirror and every panel on that side. My hugger (that was only fitted Friday) and my tank were luckily missed.
I??ll be damned if I have to put up with scratched panels or an almost as good as new paint job. I want the best as the rest of the bike is in really good condition.
I??m still in shock, I??m just glad I put some miles on it yesterday when I had the chance, will get an estimate for work tomorrow and will have to wait and see what happens.

same sort of thing happened to my mate, he parcked his bike up , and was working on the out side of a house. some stupid woman drove right into it, and even after putting his bike on the deck she kept reversing until he went up to her and gave her a piece of his mind. i mean. most car drivers have their heads soo firmly shuved up ones ass its unreal. these poxy car drivers need to switch on and be aware of not ust whats inside theri car, but also every other [Censored] human being around them tossers, the lot of em.
yeh, get all the really expensive stuff, nice paint job, might stop her from being soo bone idle.
sorry to hear about ur misfortune btw.

Nightmare !!!!!
Hope she agrees to pay for it. Make sure you get details of witnesses though....just in case she decides she doesn't want to pay. You can then tell her that you will report the accident to the police and then put it through the insurance !!!
Hopefully it won't come to that though !!

Re: You won??t believe this
I'm getting a little concerned about how this is going to work out - the average car driver doesn't know how much our machines can cost when you have to replace stuff, I've heard of cases where people is disputed the estimates assuming the biker has taken the pee.
We've given her the option of not going through her insurance but it will probably have go through it (I think she was expecting a £50 bill), is it worth calling my insurance to at least let them know the situation?

To say i'm a little angry would be an understatement!
It was a perfectly clear and bright day, teh bike was shining away having just been polished.
After it happenned, Tash phoned me and I drove straight home (quite quickly!) I parked my car in the same spot the woman had reversed from, I could clearly see the whole bike in my left hand wing mirror, and 3/4 of it in my interior mirror. How the hell she didnt see it just astounds me. I suppose the thing to be thankful of is that it wasnt a young kid that she didnt see and hit.
Being totally honest i would of prefered it to be my GSXR that had been hit as at least being brand new i know the panels are available and the match would of been perfect and i could of somehow managed to wangle a full Akrapovic system for it - Tash has only just got the bike how she wants it and now some idiot has just set her back again.
Its probably for the best that i wasnt about when it happenned as i do have a bit of a temper on me!
At the end of the day its only a piece of metal and plastic and nobody was hurt.
Rant over
