I popped in Bridge, and asked a guy I know there about this rumour, he was shocked and said business was slow but he hadn't heard anything like this, especially as they are planning to expand into the unit opposite as sole Honda dealers in the new year...
Oh by the way...Yes, it was ferkin' freezing...![]()

Eh, I've had a 996 SPS and I'm damn glad I'm in the Honda club now.
And on the last point about Bridge is expanding
I also popped in this morning and heard the same thing.
Retail market is slow everywhere, I did see about 3 - 4 bike go out to new customers whilst I was there. No Ducati's though
Bridge expanding - Good News

I would imagine that Bridge have the best mechanics...
But for a more personal touch and a bit cheaper I would use SP...
If I was really short on dosh, I would take myself down to Bikeworx, probably the least experienced but they get the job done, and Jamie and his lads are the friendliest crew around...

I heard the rumours that Bridge was unofficially up for sale back in September.
Not surprised - margins on new bikes are pretty slim these days & they need to make their money on the finance deals, servicing & clothing.
Too much competition and not enough new bikers around - except us sad old born agains
Personally, they ripped me off when I was 18 years old. Sold me my first second hand bike and I took it back 3 months later for a rear tyre & chain & sprockets & they fleeced me - I've never forgotten it!!
Never been back, never will

I must admit I hope the rumours aren't true.....it's a nice place to go for a drool
I've never bought a bike from them direct.......but have from Roy when he ran the breakers down on the quay (showing my age
). Shaun was alright when the Kawasaki spares were up in Howell Rd., Also used to get on well with Andy in spares, and bought most of my Suzuki bits from them whilst they were in Verney St., but the move to Marsh Barton made it inconvenient for me.
I'd always trust Clive when he was running the workshop (though could never afford their servicing rates
), but haven't been near them since he left.....
Just go out to Treens to see him.
If you want probably the best mechanic in Exeter, go see Bud at Dynomap

i think you'll find that andover and southampton have both closed down now, both of these shops were existing shops that bridge bought cheap to turn around but couldnt. losing the ducati dealership at andover didnt help them either.
i personally hate the place, rude, unhelpful, uncaring staff, not as bad as some at damerells cornwall mind you.
bridge have never done me any favours, i bouhgt mu lats bike in oxford and whilst riding home the number plate fell off so i called in bridge for a new one,i had my passport, driving licence, cheque book/card. bike documents but they wouldnt give me a new plate as i didnt have a household bill on me. so i had a 80mile ride home without a plate on risking a 360 fine because i didnt have a gas bill, no time for the place before and definetly not none now
what is this dynomap place like,is it any good as i need my power commander setting up properly

Dynomap is what was the Italian Motorcycle Centre out in Crediton, but they changed name and have now moved into Exeter.
I'm still waiting to get mine done there, so will report in due course hopefully

when
they are up and running they will do an excellent job on the dyno...
great job on mine..
i've disconnected my pc111 and put back normal wiring loom before and i never realised how rough it was -this was ducati performace cpu fitted to match race exhaust and k &n filters..
pc111 back in after set up = smooth + bhp increase..
you won't be dissapointed

Yep, Rode past the Southampton branch yesterday and it had "Closing Down Sale" plastered all over the windows.deej wrote:i think you'll find that andover and southampton have both closed down now
Couldn't see if it had already closed or not though.
Oh well, they refused to work on my CBR 400 anyway.
