Crash Protectors

Well i think a good move would be for me to fit some of these to my bike

where would i get a good set and are they easy to fit?

R&G's or Bike Design bungs are the best

i generally believe you get what you pay for so........

i myself went for R&G all round - mushrooms, fork protectors, bar ends and bobbins but its not cheap!!! not a lot of change from £200 notes.

however you can get them on ebay from as little as a fiver!!! - so its up to you really.

Agree with that....But

For the Fazer they are so huge i went with some super hard ones from GT, same as the Hornet. They seem OK, I'm trying not to test out either set.

I got some R&G's on mine, Need a bit of fairing cutting and you get a replacement waterbottle.

Waterbottle is easy, Just drain, unplug, fit new one and put the oil fluid back in.

Cutting the fairings is pretty easy, Loosen the old engine bolts, paint/tippex the top of the bolt, refit fairing then move the engine bolts until they touch the fairing, drill a 25mm hole around that mark.

Shouldnt take to long.

Got R&G's on mine and put them to the test a week later. Bike spun me off coming out a junction. Just ground the bung down a tad and scratched rear pillion peg. How lucky was that. I was so scared when i picked her back up off the road. Easy to fit aswell but like said you will proberly need to cut the fairing. Just be brave.

A friend (non biker) jumped on my bike without asking and over she went. Not a scratch due to the bungs.

Most people fit them after they have binned it.

Had R&Gs on the SV, and saved my side fairings a few times after minor 'offs' (didn't help much when i put it through the side of a transit van at 30 though

).

Didn't have em on the R6 and promptly wrote the thing off after a low speed low side, so high on the priorities for the gixxer was a set of the yoshimura ones. Fitted them, then the day later i dropped it getting it out of the garage

, but the yoshi bungs saved everything (including a 450 note end can), not even a mark, smashing bit of kit, well happy

something I have never bothered with. Crashed and Written off a few bikes over the years to. Dont like the look of them I think it looks a bit shite having rubber doorstop like things protruding from it, if the bike gets damaged then so be it, Ill just repair it or get another one.

I have got them, and they saved me in a crash last year, just unfortunatley small marks to the top fairing as its fairly wide on the SRAD's. Also some minor scrathes on the RHS. I will get them resprayed when I have a chance. But all in all it would have been a lot more expensive were they not on the bike.

R&G's definitely recomended by me. If you do get them though get the swingarm and exhaust protectors aswell. Awesome bits of kit and once fitted dead cheap to replace a bung rather than ur fairing. Had a lowspeed drop with my can protector and it wasnt even marked !!!!
