2 stroke rebuilding

Post by 2strokelover »

guys i need help on this one :

sice owning my first tzr back 2 years ago my knowlege of 2 strokes went from nothing to good then when i sold the bike i spent a lot of time on sites that cater for 2ts only where i picked up a lo9t of usefull knowlege and has taught me alot of what i know today.

anyways let me exeplain im rebuilding my engine and took my barrel down to my local garage the other week to get the bore messured and he said it was a bit of a funny size he gave me the mesurements and of i went e-mailing wemoto to ask what size pistion i would need 2-3 days later passe and no reply when talking to people they said they usaly get the pistion redone when they have the barrel bored .

so this is what im now thinking if the pistion is ok itself can i get away with jsut replacing rings and bearings and keep using the pistion or will i have to get a new psition ???? any relies welcome cheers of to eat my tea now ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

As long as the bore and piston arn't marked up to much it should be fine just to fit a new set of rings 8)

Yeah you can have a nice clean smooth bore but the bore can be oval
and when i honed my 250 bore the other day there is slight wear at the bottom of the piston stroke, Just gotta get me 350 heads back and up it too 350

cool cheers mervin u might be the dude to ask about this. my bikes the uk tzr 89 model without ypvs but i brought a powervalve servo of a 4dl which is the same as a dtr 125 servo. ive been told that they had the control box built into the servo itself if so does this mean i can rewire it into my loom ?? so it works bud or will i still have to get a control box ?? hoping not as i love that kick up the ass at about 6 thou (ypvs or not i just love it !!!!!)
