Ab Fab day. Great "P" up Thursday nite and a head ache all day friday.
Grand job Phil of organising it all mate. Thank you matey.
Big thank you to AGE and Webber for showing me the proper lines around the circuit. Even if you didn't realise you were doing it. Had to make the most of being over taken by you.
Pleased with 48 secs and got some great knee down pics on the cd Gav and Kelly have got. So go and buy it. Out now.

Also thankyou to Nick for getting me in trouble on way home for letting me over take everyone in the fast lane on M5. As i'm not aload in the outside with trailer. But hey balls to them all including that stroppy AA driver.
Great day all round.
Whens the next one??

you should have stayed quiet ....TLS-Moose wrote:Well ..... I could stay quiet and claim 52's ..... but my video says otherwisejust over 53 sec's measured from the marker post on the left of the rear chicane (the only one where it is always in sight, every lap) but in the last 2 sessions, almost all laps were mid 53's to high 54's ...
oh well, i did say not accurate, maybe i got you on your fastest lap ???

well cheers everyone I had a great day couldn't believe the fantastic weather or the amount of crashes we had.........still no-one was hurt so we can all laugh at the daft buggers who fell off
Special thanks to speedy for organising it (i take it my £25 is in the post
) and to sam for lending me his bike for a few sessions - as some of you know this put a huge grin on my face and i couldn't belive how much faster the cbr was round the track.
Once again the trackday did show up the limitations of the old bus so I have now decided that even a 20year old cbr6 would be faster than the triumph on the track so i'm going to give her a service and sell her on to get a 600.

The big ol' Bus was going well Andrew...
Although it was sounding rather tired later on...Wasn't it being used in 2 categories ?

not well enough i'm afraid. Its fine on the road but just can't cut it on the track i honestly belive even an old jelly mold cbr would've been quicker.Maver-Nick wrote:The big ol' Bus was going well Andrew...![]()

You are right it wasn't running very well on the day, because of being put back together in a hurry and did indeed have to run in both the inters and fast groups due to webbers early departure. But i am going to give it a full service and put the original exhausts back on and see what i can get for the old bus - to be fair its a very reliable and bullet proof bike that would make an excellent 2-up sports tourer so if anyone has a 600 they want to swap/px then let me know, would even consider a bike with mechanical problems as i don't mind stripping down an engine.
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck
Thats interesting......i'd love to do a trackday, but am now riding a CBR1000F (big and heavy sports tourer)andrew wrote:well cheers everyone I had a great day couldn't believe the fantastic weather or the amount of crashes we had.........still no-one was hurt so we can all laugh at the daft buggers who fell off![]()

Since owning it i have been getting to grips with it ok on the roads and have toyed with the idea of doing a trackday, but not sure whether its the
best idea, taking a big old bus on the track.....
How did you find your Triumph went round Llandow and how did it handle?

1995 CBR1000F - CBS.Full Micron race system,K&N Filter,purple screen - Deceptively quick (but heavy!)

Although i wasn't happy with the triumph as it was definately slowing me down i think its only fair to put things into perspective.CBR_LOVER wrote: Thats interesting......i'd love to do a trackday, but am now riding a CBR1000F (big and heavy sports tourer)

How did you find your Triumph went round Llandow and how did it handle?
1. The triumph still went ok - i was riding in the fast group and definately wasn't the slowest in the group, in fact i spent one session having lots of fun with a guy on a rsv mille (sorry mate forgot your name) which is a much quicker bike.
2. The bike wasn't running properly but even so it struggles to keep up with the 600s on acceleration down the straights - i don't think u will struggle on the cbr 1000 tho.
3. the bike handles perfectly as i have the suspension set up very well - theres no reason u can't do the same with the cbr 1000.
4. I still had a great day (it would have been better on a sportier 600) but it wasn't like i wasn't having fun on the triumph.
The bad points of a bigger bike that will affect u on the cbr are:
1. U will be much slower in the tighter sections of the track as u will require more breaking and will not be able to flick the bike around as easy as the smaller bikes.
2. It is much more physically demanding to ride a heavy bike fast, so u will be more knackered than everyone else at the end of a session.
The main reason i want to change my bike is because i saw just how much quicker i could ride a cbr and how much easier it was.
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck
I have to say it does handle quite well but it does lack grunt !
Oh and it's a wide bugger I had a job at times finding a wide enough piece of track to get past
We said it last time Andrew You need a faster bike mate as that one is holding you back !!!
