There must be hundreds of sites on the net where people can, and do, name and shame poor service.

Places like reviewcentre.com where people give their opinion on the service they have received.

There's nothing slanderous in doing so as long as its a true recollection of the events.

Yeah but Reviewcentre.com will do just that - review things.
SouthWestBikers.com is a biking community, a living body if you will.

I see your point though, I'm just saying how it will be viewed from a third party perspective - it's a cruel f*cking world no!?

lol CV the new trimph dealer near wellington is much much better than the above stated shop. Got my review form from triumph this morning. gunna send it off tomorrow and maby i will win a bike

Name and shame thats what I say. Censorship is sh!t imo, although it's the norm around here it seems.

If someone said something positive about a bikeshop would that be censored to?

We dont get done for slander with positive posts,

If You want to slate a dealer then do so but not by Name leave clues !!!

If some company wants to sue an internet forum for members posting 'slander' then they deserve it imo. Hopefully the jailtime will be short......haha! oh god, live a little.

As long as the comments are truthful then there's no problem, be they positive or negative.

We shouldn't be afraid of telling it like it is incase we pi$$ off some company that's giving bad service.

We should be a beacon of truth, guiding fellow bikers towards the good guys and slagging off the villains who perpetuate poor service...the swines.

i say if a bike shop make a mistake on your bike thay are asking for it. the said bike shop already has a bad rep for thair workshop and are well known for it
a hope all the storys i have herd arnt true.
but thay are registerd users so i hope thay read it and sort the f**king problem
ps i would never take my bike there?

A few years ago the press ran some tests on different bike garages in England. If i recall correctly this said garage came 7th out of 10 that were tried. Basicaly the set a bike up with a certain number of faults and put in for a service. They missed quite a few items.
I think it may have been Ride magazine.
What more can you say.

ZX6R is quite right, but I doubt if many still have the article to hand - it was a fair while ago?

I first used this dealer in 1976 and have bought about 10 bikes from them over the past 30 years - as a selling dealer I still rate them for price (relatively), part-ex deal and standing by their bikes; but IMHO their workshop expertise has definitely deteriorated over the years.

For me it all seemed to start going wrong with the explosion of popularity in motorcyles about 10 years ago - before that they were used to dealing with an "intelligent client" now they seem to think that no-one knows anything about bikes except how to buy a new one.

Also perhaps co-incidental that within your time-frame it fit's with the move to posh, expensive premises, a change in business structure (direction?), and a reduction in one (or more) brothers direct day to day involvement in the operation

I think that there has also been a fundamental shift with bikes (in the same way as cars) where they are becoming far more sophisticated in their management systems (and we are becoming far lazier

) such that people are far more daunted in undertaking even basic tasks

One other little point, and this is in defence of just about ALL garages (franchised or otherwise) ..... 99% of the time that people make the effort to get their opinions of someone known, it is because they are unhappy. I am sure in the most part these are a minority of their customer base .... and that the larger the market share, the more likely they are to dis-satisfy someone ....

I see no reason why anyone should not be able to discuss the level of service they have received from a garage, so long as they have attempted to resolve their issues with said location first, and it is done in a simple manner - not as an "internet lynching"
