my dad is back at home with my mum and brother now, he is doing ok, he has got movement in his hand and wrist now, which is a very good sign. he has crushed the nerves in his shoulder, so he had to have a nerve graft thingy done, nerves grown one MM a day so its going to take a while before he can use his arm again, he cant move his elbow, so thats the major problem and his hand is very swolen! he has had quite a big personality change, but he is still my daddy, and i am guna have to get used to it! he does alot of things that he doesnt realise he is doing aswell, like swearing in every sentance and saying things he doesnt know hes even said! which is quite hard to come to terms with! but only time can tell as to wether he gets better or not! thanx for all of your comments

Just thought id leave a message to let u all know that my dad is doing alot better now! he hasnt got any movement in his elbow... and he is alot different in the head to what he used 2 b! always has 2 b right, is v v v impatient, he wont let you sit down and talk to him.. if u try he just snaps. and he nags and nags and dont shutup, which is a huuuuuge wind up! but.... hes alot better now. so thats a good thing! hes had twitches in his elbow so physio think he should get some movement in his elbow by xmas! a long time away... but its great news! he doesnt remember getting on his bike the day of the accident, or for about a month after! but i suppose its a good thing that he doesnt remember bein linked upto tubes and machines!
thanx for all of your messages.... just read over them all!

Glad to hear he is doing well. It's still very early days for cognitive recovery which is good and only begins to tail off after two years. So you should continue to see improvement for a long time to come.
Neuro-rehabilitation is a tough thing so never be afraid to ask anyone for help, especially social services and health!
