Brand New Kawasaki ZX6R? Good Or Bad

Post by ZXR400Lee »

Hey all

I got a few days off this week, so thought, why not have a look around the bike shops, went into Cornwall Kawasaki Centre as I've been looking for a ZX6R A1P model in red for a while now, and the guy was like, why not a brand new one, in black! Mmm.. looks really good.

Did all of the repayment calculations and everything looking good.. I'm demo'in one on Friday afternoon, anyone had any experience with them?

Cheers

The latest ZX6 is light years ahead of the g/j/a models and is an easy bike to ride.

The only issue that some have had with the black ones is that the tanks are marking quite badly where your legs rub (the green ones do it as well but it is not as noticeable).

I honestly cannot think of anything to really grumble about with mine.

The black ones are in demands so you pay over the odds but if you want that colour fair enough.

However Kawasaki direct were doing the green and silver ones for £5500 with 3 years 0% finance a month back.

Not sure if they are still doing it now but I guarantee they will be going for that price against especially when the 07 model comes out. Be patient and save a packet.

Just checked and they are 5499 but the 0% finance ain't there anymore. Still you can get a cheap loan. What you paying for the black one?

WOW!! Went out on one this afternoon and I am very very impressed, its so much better than the previous ZX6R.

I can have a black one for £6100, but its pre-reg, still never been riden but on a 55 plate I believe. They are £7100 brand new according to the guy at the showroom.

I think they are charging too much, but he told me that there are no more ZX6RR's 06 model's left this year from Kawasaki, only what people have in stock, so once they are gone, they are gone, till next year.

I'm yet to try the new R6, so I'm having a go on that before I make my decision.

According to someone on the Ninja Forums, George Whites are doing them pre reg for £4999. Perhaps not in your colour but I reckon I'd take any colour at that price.

I paid that for my pre reg "B" model back in March so am pretty gutted.

£6100 for a pre-reg on a 55 plate is taking the mickey IMHO.

I would go with Toypop's suggestion of one from http://www.kawasakidirect.co.uk at £5499 (until 28th July), OK no black ones but that is a [censored] load cheaper and you get an 06 plate which is gonna help at resale time.

Oh and the green ones really are faster - and the proof - my old ZX6 was blue and was definitely not as quick as my current green zx6

Ohhh the depreciation. Cheap may seem good but its no better than any other bike as they get hit hard as fcuk in depreciation.

Cheers.. I've decided.. if I'm spending that much money, I'm not settling for a green one, I want black and if I cant have black, I'm not having one at all.

Going to check out the R6 as well.. they are a sexy looking bike, so I'll see if I can get a demo on one too. Failing that, I know of a black/copper GSXR600K4 thats worth a look too!

So I cant say I'm down on choice.
