my bike wont spark!!!!

a replaced the barrel and piston on my scooter, started my bike up, it was runnin for a couple seconds, then it cut out, i tried to start it again and it wudnt start! iv replaced the spark plug, and the ignition coil! that didnt make any difference. put a wire from the battery to coil, and it still wudent start! hmm iv had my dad look at it and he dont know either!
anyone got any ideas?

Has the coil broken?

If you got a kick start, will it spark off that, if it does then it could be the starter motor.

Another common problem is the sidestand switch breaking which cuts out the spark.

What scooter is it?

its an aprilia sonic! iv put a new coil and plug in it! and squirted petrol into the bit where the plug goes! but nothin seems to be workin, my dads had a look, hes used 2 be a bike mechanic. but he dont know either!

o, and the kickstart level isnt there! lol bought it second hand and it dont have one :S
but its a centre stand on it! the bike turns over, but it dont spark!

This might sound silly, but are you pulling the brake lever in when you try and start it. It is a safety feature that is not fitted to all scooters.

yea, its like the bike wants to start, cuz it turns over, but the spark just dont happen! its needs a spark and it will b find! just lyk it dont have a spark plug in it! but its does, and im gettin all confused tryin to figure out wot it is!

How is he testing the spark, is he holding it against the engine casing

yea, tried that, and wiv wit a screw driver, wit a wire from the battery to the coil! weve tried all that we can fink of!

I don't 2 strokes run off a magneto or have a CDI unit. So I think it must be the coil, could be faulty or not wired in properly

i dont fink i have! well i hope not newayz! but it started then it conked out! just need to get that spark, once so i can see if the piston nd barrel workin properly!
