Re: seems abit empty.
well, i wished id changed to the 950sm sooner, ive had it 4 weeks now, 2 of which its been in for repair which sucks, the head gasket went:(jaagsxr wrote:hi hava read viewtopic.php?f=49&t=85505&start=270

but the two weeks ive been on it have made up for that, so much fun but enuff power to be usable for normall use aswell as fun, i rode it 426 miles in a day and then done the same journey 2 days l8r on the way home and it coped with out any isues, seat started to be a pain but u can shuffle about so much on them it wasnt to bad.
only thing is its geared quite tall so a 16t front sprocket is a must, just waiting to get my bike back so i can fit one and take it out.
overall a gr8 bike can do everything pretty much

Hi all.
Thought this may be a good place to post. I'm new to the on-road community and this is the most local site i have found. I am from Somerset and have a Husky 510 SMR, and am keen to go on rides with others to meet peeps and develop me knowledge
Don't mind long miles, but as said previously, 80+ gets a bit rough after a while.

Re: seems abit empty.
I have been thinking about it, but dont want to comprimise reliability, have you had any issues? Did you do it yourself?
Re: seems abit empty.
hi m8 cos mine is the smr the engines only last 7-8000 miles and then they need a new con rod
so it is a full strip down new main bearings gaskets and a rebore , oh and larger piston and rings
so not that cheep around £1200
i got a bloke who raced huskys for 7 years to do the work cos he could rebore it.
but i later broke a crank case and i rebuild it when that happened, and crank cases are only £1200+vat!!
and do i notice the difference ??well yer a bit , you can run larger gears so more speed and exceleration
but i only did mine because the engine needed a refresh.
