You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Post by ptolemyx »

Meet at Smileys 09.30 to leave 09.45, fuelled for 115 miles.

Breakfast in Lynmouth

Pace will be making good progress according to prevailing conditions. Not hanging about for 125s but knee sliders not required either.

Weather dependant, so check here if I postpone to later in the month.

Depending on: (a) an MOT'd Triumph (potentialy today), and (b) weather and finances (always unpredictable), I could be up for it. Will advise drekly.

It looks like I might have the day off work for this Brian, so weather dependent I should be in.

Sorry Brian, the Triumph whizzed through MOT but I'm keeping it on SORN until the new year so won't make this one. Have a good safe day.

Forecast is looking like sub zero temps overnight untill middle of the day. That'll be out Brian as don't much fancy icy roads and freezing temps.

Yep, I'm keeping an eye out. If we have heavy frost overnight I'll cancel early in the morning. At 700 ft above sea level our village is a good gauge. If, as is likely, it's not that bad but still cold enough for the heated gear I'll change the route to avoid the higher bits of Exmoor.

So please check here to see if I cancel this ride in the morning...

Well, at 06.35 it's been snowing a couple of hours here. Pitching on the still frozen ground, current air temp -6 degrees which even the dog detested on our early trudge out of the village. Ponds in our garden stayed frozen all yesterday and today is forecast to be colder.

So, surprisingly, I'm staying relatively snug in the barely heated home and saving the route for another day.
