MEMBERSHIP POLL RE COST
Hi All (again) haha,
Here we have a Poll to see what price you think membership of SWB should be:
Now before you vote remember it costs Dave £38 per month to run the site, stickers dont come free and other factors.
Over to you.
Personally I Think £10
Thanks
Speedy
PS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LEAVE ANY COMMENTS YOU MAY HAVE BELOW
(PLEASE REMEBER THIS IS ONLY FOR FEEDBACK FROM EVERYONE)

OK... here goes...
I pay (approx):
£17 pa to the Association of Classic Trial Clubs (to get all of the event reg's)
£15 to the TRF (because they're BMF affiliated and that gives quite a few advantages)
£15 to the ACU for a licence
£15 to the Motorcycling Club (because they're ACU affiliated)
.. bottom line is that if you're asking £10 or more a year I've got to ask "What am I getting?"... sorrry but I don't really go for stickers!
Please... no abusive responses... I'm trying to be constructive... now if the group was BMF affiliated then perhaps... (and I have started and run BMF affiliated clubs in the past so I know it's not really expensive).
OK ... back to you... note I haven't voted... I think some intellectual discussion may be rather more useful than a poll.
OK getting off my soapbox now!

Best money I spent this year.
Boy scout, its called research, the site means alot to some people and it costs to keep it running

Many thanks boyscout, your comments are very helpful, but all we are trying to say is that it costs Dave £38 x 12 = £456 per year to run the site, membership at a Fiver ain't paying for this, and he is losing out big time. Also the cost of stickers, now new membership cards (to be shown for discount at M/C shops) costs money
Maybe there are other ways, maybe donation of £1/£2 on a ride out, maybe we could get the track day a sponsored event, i don't really know, but any suggestions are really much appreciated.
Thanks

I don't mind paying £5 per year for membership, I know Dave pays out a lot at the moment but we could top it up with say a £1/£2 donation at rideouts / pub meets like you suggested speeds
We also need to encourage non-members to join and with Dave putting up info on the homepage this should help, also more of the site should be member orientated to encourage non-members to join......
the membership cards are hopefully going to take off, bagging SP motorcycles was brill and we also have guppa p I think..... a few more would be great... if we all ask around I'm sure we could pull in a few more businesses (could be any shops, not just biking ones) We could advertise their businesses on the home page in return for their discount.
Just my 2p worth, (I'll pay up the £4.98 later)

I would be willing to pay £10 pa.
Its worth the cost of a tank of petrol for all the ride outs, info, advice, help, banter, and it stops me getting bored at work.
How is renewal of membership carried out ?
Are people sent an pm/email when the year (or is it 2) is up ?
Membership cards will be great, but we need a list of all places who are willing to give discount as it seems a bit of a grey area at the moment.

Guys, I feel a bit embarrassed now that I haven't paid but at the start it was dificult to find someone to pay and it fell away from my thought process........nothing new there then!
Anyway, I reckon just pay a one off payment (£7.50) and if non members turn up at rideouts charge them a quid. It will encourage them to become members and enjoys the full benefit of having the pi$$ ripped out of them at rideouts/ bars and websites with the rest of us.
Being devils advocate: Who will collect the money? Who will it be passed to? Will reciepts be issued? How will it be auditted?
Anyway, I really enjoy the ride outs and the company of the people on them so please, whatever else happens, dont let this become a formal nonsense. Keep it mellow and RING ITS FUGGIN NECK!

2022 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & 2026 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster 1200
Right.....
,Now when i joined Swb there was nowt going on in exeter
I've had to travel to plymouth from dawlish practically every time i wanted to do a rideout
- now don't get me wrong - i've had some of the best rideouts setting off from plymouth and the company's ideal,i just think the Exeter side of swb needs livening up a bit
