suzuki k6 oil leak

Well i suggest not buying a suzuki k6, my 600 went in because it had a oil leak it actually has a flaw in the cylinder so it is now going to take 3 to 4 weeks to get a new block from japan

well peeved off but apperently i am not the only one as some of the 750's also have had the problem, so all the bits off my bike have to go into a new block so basicley i am getting back a refubished engine!!!! ON A 3 MONTH OLD BIKE so the whole of august i haven't got my own bike

Dont buy a suzuki as the dealer and suzuki customer CARE

dont really give a crap either they both talked to me as though its my fault

Bad luck mate, but I thought under your consumer rights you would be entitled to reject the bike as being unfit for its purpose and get a full refund ?

I don't know if its true or not, but that's what I would be trying to do.

Not sure really...try trading standards dept of local council, citizens advice bureaux, just found this link

Says you have 6 months to reject something if the fault was present when you bought it. The problem sounds like a manufacturing fault so you should be entitled to a full refund.

Thats a tough break, I guess a small percentage of bikes have a fault and someone has to be the unlucky person to get one.

Are they not giving you a 750 or 1000 as a courtesy bike?

I would be expecting them to do that as a gesture of good will.

Anything less than that would be a poor customer service if you ask me. Mind you I would take another 600 as a courtesy bike and give it a good hard spanking for a month.

They are doing what they can to sort it for you. Just unfortunatley one of those things, remember a couple of years back they had problems on some K2 1000's which took a while to sort, but done nevertheless.

Do ask for an equivalent bike to borrow though.

didn't it come from GT ? but you can't blame them for the oil leak.

I would not accept a rebuilt engine !

You need to approach Suzuki GB.

well approached suzuki gb and they said its up to the dealer, dealer says he doesnt think it warrents money back or a new machine good news is they have the parts in stock now at suzuki gb so will hopefully get it back soon. in theory the bits are almost new any ways so i got to let them get on with it now

A couple of things mate.

1. If you have purchased a new bike then you should definately be given a courtesy bike to use, as a customer whos spent a lot of money they should be looking after you and I would demand at least an equivalent bike to use (especially as its the peak of the biking season).
2. No offence here mate but are you sure it isn't you? have you definately stopped all those bad habits that caused the R6 to seize (i.e. no revving the tits of a cold engine

)

Anyway gutted for you mate

, make sure u get a courtesy bike to rag during august..........................................btw i hear the R6 you were in such a rush to get rid off is running perfectly

Sorry Georgie I would expect a NEW engine not a rebuilt one !!!

I think Suzuki should give youa loan bike whilst yours is being rebuilt.
