forum help needed please

Hi there,

I help run a small forum of which i,am one of the admin team,
we are having probs with spammers putting porn pics,links and adds on our site,
i know on here we have to post at least 10 times and be a member for 7 days to be able to post links can any one tell me how i do this in the admin panel please as i think that could stop most of our probs were having and if there is a way of stopping them from putting porn pics on there that would help to tho not sure how i could stop the porn pics with out cheaking all posts which we do cus we do let members put normal photos on our site...

You have to turn on the spam filter or something like that, we had the same problems and Dave did something and its all stopped now.

You will have to wait until at least tomorrow for an answer thou as Dave and Mark are at Pembrey today.

yeah i know how to sort that one funky and i have put it so new members have to be aproved, but its the post 10 posts before you can post links i really wanted to know buddy

What forum system do you run, if you are running phpbb as we do here then I can apply some code for you.

I would need to know what version of phpbb you are using, and whether you are currently using a captcha system.

You get the spammers sign up by using a program to send a robot to the site which will emulate a user registering, however there are many ways to stop then. As far as I am aware the only way people can get to this site is to manually sign up. However we do get the odd one sneak through.

According to my stats we have stopped over 2,000 spammers from joining with the system in place.

yes with have a phpBB forum like this one but not sure what a captcha system is any chance of letting me know where i would find this out please mate and i,ll get back to you.... thanks again for helping
