virus heat

Post by watters »

im having a few problems with my comp, all of a sudden 2 icons have came onto my desktop with 'virus heat' on them. looks like some sort of infection on my comp as i havnt downloaded it myself. as soon as it came up my screen saver has dissapeared and some little annoying icon has popped up and it keeps telling me that it has detected some new viruses,if you click on the logo it goes onto a virus heat website and i have no way of getting rid of it. ive tried every way of deleting it and used numerous spyware/worm/virus etc etc tests an none of them can get rid of it,any ideas?

I had something similar a week or so ago, although it was a different name. Same symptoms, a popup would say that the PC was infected & that I could get it removed by clicking a link. After a day of messing around with registry & deleting files I thought I'd got shot of it. Did a restart in the evening & all seemed well, next morning started PC & the dam thing came back again :x In the end I reformated the system & started again, flipping anoying tho
The thing is my AV & Firewall didn't pick it up & on further investigation non of the major AV software companys had any info about it.
It appears that it's a scam to get you to buy their software.
According to this site the fake virus is put onto the system & they try & get you to buy their software to remove it.
