Hi Everyone another newbie!!

Post by malc1869 »

Hi all,
I am Malc from Bridgwater, currently building a fightered Bandit 1200, in parts in the living room at the mo but should be done in time for the summer, funds permitting!!

The misses and mates are strarting to get sick of chatting about jack up kits, braided hoses etc so thought I would find some like minded fanatics in the area. Interested in any local meets and rideouts.

Also if anybody knows any good polishers, or tuners in the south west I would appreciate a heads up

Cheers

Malc

Hi m8 and welcome, i remember the days very well of having a GS1000 sat in my living room, was single at the time though wouldn't get away with it now, or stripping it down and using the spare bedroom as a spraybooth allthough i quite liked the Black over spray on the walls outlining the frame a treat, but went down like a cup of cold sick with my next ex girlfriend not in the least bit bike orientated but a cracking set of legs. Ah those were the days :D :D

Welcome bud, Had a 1999 1200 Bandit from new and it was standard apart from flat bars, venom nose cone, mini indicators and an Art can. Was a great bike :D

Thanks all for the warm welcome, will sort some pics soon. And this will be finished by the summer fund permitting. Not going for the latest extreme look though, lots of polishing, arse in the air to improve the handling, new front fairing loads of stainless. A good ole classic fighter, black with lots of shiny bits,

Anybody know any polishers in the south west?? Also looking for any good road tuners in the south west?

Cheers

When i did my GS1000 i enjoyed doing the polishing myself and saved some money as well, got a proper polisher, not a 3 phase job like the pro's but a double ended polisher with a fairly powerful motor, strong enough to apply some pressure without it grinding to a halt, spent hours in the shed polishing away at all the engine covers, footrests, forks, yokes etc and they came up top notch, i reckon the whole kit only cost me around £100, its just wheels that are too big for it to handle really, worth a thought if you have the time :D
