SWB rider down

Post by billinom8s »

yep, its me, this morning i became the latest stat due to greasy roads and cold tyres, luckily it was only at 10mph and there was a small truck to let me bounce off of.

ankle hurts a bit but no where near as much as the wallet does.

the race is on to get it ready again(bugger)

Good to hear you are ok, bikes can be repaired , it hurts the wallet but is not so painful as broken limbs

Ouch :(

Are you sure you were only doing 10?

Hate to think what you’d brake if going faster!

errr...... that lot looks a bit more than a 10mph slide

Glad you're OK, and at least there's someone nice to help rub the sore bits better

How is the head-bearing damaged :? If the headstock has taken a punt hard enough to damage the bearing, take a very good look at the metalwork in the area and the bearing seats. Exup's were renowned for ovalling their headstock bearing seats in very minor spills, and early R1's had problems with the sheet metal creasing.

Sorry to be a "harbinger of doom", but if there's that much damage done to the front, you may need to be looking for a frame

yeah, its just the fact that the thing that stopped me was a moving van, dont know if it rode over the front wheel or not, never will.

i know it seems alot of damage, went down hard, he had pulled out wide to avoid a bmw and i slid into him so dont know what the collective impact speed would have been, i only ended up a few feet from the bike tho so was the lucky part of the equation.
have looked round the welds and they all seem ok, no flexing as such, hope there isn't any ovaling as that would really put a dampner on the day.

the steering head bearing wasnt snapped or anything like that, just needs replacing(hope its condition isnt anything to do with the knock)
