Re: rear view helmet
I think it's one of those things where it's a nice idea but possibly flawed in execution
or an answer to a problem that doesn't really exist
a) the inclusion of more "fragmentable" material within striking distance of your eyes
b) the "lense corridor" from rear view to viewing glass takes up valuable "cushioning" or padding space to save the brain getting hurt
c) your view will vary according to whatever angle your head is set at, meaning you will have to alter your view ahead to look behind
Trail bike riders would have a good view of their pillion seats, whereas sports bike riders would have a good view of the sky

Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

Re: rear view helmet
It's not actually made from glass, but polished plastic & as a result gives a less than sharp image...apparently.TLS-Moose wrote:I think it's one of those things where it's a nice idea but possibly flawed in executionor an answer to a problem that doesn't really exist

Nice idea like you say, i wouldn't buy one.. it might start more bad habits, ontop of all my other bad habits.

Re: rear view helmet
I like the idea alot actually, think its a really good design.
The only thing that puts me off is that fact that it could deduct from the saftey-ness of the helmet....but i guess you gotta weigh that up with how much it would reduce the chance of an accident !

Re: rear view helmet
Other than for police spotting and reversing your bike I really don't see the point. If something is going to go into the back of you then you're either not going fast enough
or are at a stop at which point you're not going to stop it going into the back of you anyway. Personally I'll just use my mirrors.
