Standard post, no you don't get any tracking numbers ..... that comes with additional cost methods such as registerd post, etc., ....

However, whenever I send something out from something like an ebay sale I get a "proof of postage" receipt which shows where the item has been posted to (postcode) and the date, cost, etc., so at least you have something you can scan in and show the recipient it's been posted
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

As has been said he wouldnt of got any proof at all.
Which when doing online transactions is dumb to be honest.

Although id be suspcious as it could also be the case that he hasnt actually sent the item out at all,
things do get lost in the post but alot of them seem to be ebay things these days

The thing here is a recorded post/ sign on delivery covers the seller.

1) I sent the item, heres the number as proof and its been signed for. If not then what a pratt i am

2) I recieved the delivery, so this is proof i have recieved it, if no signature then where is the proof i have recieved it.

Its easy really. Seller would be a pratt to send anything without proof of a signature.

But a standard send is just like a stamp you wouldn't have to sign for it unless it would'nt fit through your letter box and they can't leave it outside, where they would leave a card or leave it with a neighbour.

**SO IT DEPENDS ON HOW BIG IT WAS**
