What an awesome day on track in the WET with the odd shower thrown in aswell.
Mind u don't ask Rik what he thought of Donington in the wet ( I actually passed him & he started just behind me )
One of the best things I have bought for my bike are the wet race tyres my god the grip is awesome.

Wets are for people who accept defeat. Just like war and the French.

I prefer to sit it out, happy in the knowledge that hundreds of pounds are going down the drain 8)

Well I had a good time (like a pig in shit) despite it being cold, wet and windy. Couple of high speed slides just to remind you where the limit is.

6 of us from Exeter –Dave (sp), Ian Dunston, Colin, Chris, irk and me. Jason turned up as he’s working up north at the moment. Also ScottyH and a number from Gixer Junkies.

Most people had wets and groups were probably half full. Seemed fewer crashes than most dry trackdays.
Shame irk couldn’t join in with the fun.

Thanks to Gavin I’m now setup with RaceChrono. So have lots of data and with a bit more help will overlay on to a sessions video. Managed to improve my lap time every session, which was nice. 1:34 best.

Surprised with some of the corner speeds – 85 down through Craner and 94 through Schwantz into Mcleans. Also like the new layout without Melbourne loop.

Is November too late to do a trackday ?

- Probably Yes.

From the beginning............................................
4am and Chris and Rik are outside my place to pick me up
Just leaving the services and we get a phone call from Layne (who slept in his van at the track) saying it's wet but not raining :)
We had a double garage for 6 of us :D Me, Chris, Rik in one side Layne, Dave(Sp) & Ian in the other. As Layne has already said there was plenty of spaces in all groups so plenty of garage space for all. It was good to catch up with ScottyH, Gemma and the guys we went to Portimao with.

!st time out on wets & i can honestly say i am shitting myself :80:
2 warm up laps only on the 1st session (thankyou)
Pull out the pitlane and tip into Redgate for the 1st time and its like riding on tyres that have a V profile the bike just drops into the corner but much more than i am expecting.
After the warm up laps the tyres just feel so predictable and grippy. The rest of the day is much the same. Got Blitzed by Layne but Chris, Dave and Ian were passing me but not getting away from me.
I think we had 2 red flags all day and the new circuit layout is good.

The weirdest feeling is being on track then it starts to rain. My brain is saying slow down take it easy it's raining then i think what am i doing i am on wet tyres

Bring on Silverstone on Sunday now
( the forcast is really, really good )

1:34 round Donnington........... Thats bloody quick mate. Well done.

I havent been there for a few years but I was in the fast group at 2 minutes dead and the moto gp guys were only hitting 1:32.

And that was in the dry!

Well done fella. I'd keep those times and frame em! :D
