Where do you get your tyres?

Post by ZX6Rich »

Only 1 that suits in the recommendation section need a pair of 023's fitted to the ninja as 3800 miles in 8 weeks has killed the 016's!! :-q where do you guys go... Yeovil, Taunton, Bridgwater or if they are REALLY cheap Exeter...will need to be fitted to the bike (not going to be able to take the wheels out in time) other option is just someone to fit...can get them £220 a pair delivered online...

Why not go to Furlong tyres? I leave my bike there & they'll take out the wheels, fit the tyres & put it back together again. 8)
The last pair i got was 023's & cost £262. (about a year ago thou).

On your doorstep too.

I've just had a pair of Pilot Road 3's supplied and fitted to the KTM at home for £260 inclusive by http://www.rjracing.co.uk/.
The other Guy I sometimes use at Somerset Superbikes charges £15 per wheel to remove wheel, fit tyre, balance and refit wheel, and doesn't give a monkeys where the tyre has come from.
Bt023s are still a newish tyre so I would expect you to be paying £220-£230 for tyres alone? + £30-£40 for fitting, so if you can get it done locally and hassle free for about £270, I'd probably go for that.
You could always get the spoons and some fairy liquid out and do it yourself ;)

can get em online for 210-220 so 70 quid for fitting seems a bit steep lol esp seen as they probably havent paid that much for the tyres in the first place....

Don't forget ,if you get them online most will probably want to deliver to your home address, that then means you have to get them to wherever you're getting them fitted. If that's 10 miles away you're probably just aswell biting the bullet and paying a bit more for the convieience of supply and fit elsewhere. What starts out as saving £10-15 quid quickly turns into a right ballache.

£280 fitted for a set of sports tourers. Thats simply crazy money.

Get a set of Diablo Strada, sports tourers but with a friendly price. I did a trackday on a set a few years ago, no issues. About £170 delivered online, I'm sure you could get a set fitted for just under £200.

The Diablo Strada will be leagues apart from the BT023 in terms of longevity and grip. Think I'd rather pay the extra.

Thats about the right price for a set fitted, from what I know Fred is the cheapest around your area and as he supplies the other shops I doubt they'll be any cheaper
