Just changed the Harley XR1200 for an XJR1300, anyone know the best tyres for this? Gonna be using it for touring so looking for grip and durability.

send nomad a pm. I believe he has one, plus he tours, plus he runs a b&b in France.

Hasn't Nomad for a FJR?billinom8s wrote:send nomad a pm. I believe he has one, plus he tours, plus he runs a b&b in France.
Would think Michelin Road 3s or Dunlop Roadsmarts. Not too keen on Avon Storms personally, can't wait til they wear out now.

Jamie seems to like the Metzler Z6's on his Hornet, and they seem to be lasting ok

It has Storm st2 at the moment but they only have about 1000 miles left on em. Want something sticky on the edges and hard in the middle. Bit like me.
Re: Yammy XJR1300sp
Bridgestone BT023's? They do one specifically for heavier bikes. Michelin PR2's or PR3's.

Went from Maxxis Diamondbacks to Bridgestone BT-021's. Was also pretty happy with the Maxxis, until I put the new BT's on, sorry to say Goaty, but you can tell the difference in quality of grip and handling straight away, even in these cold and shit conditions. Just my opinion mind, horses for courses and all that ;) .

Have to agree with Badger, I use BT's which are good - apart from any 2-up motorway/autoroute touring where the rear will obviously appear to wear "flat" prematurely...
