Motorcycle Gear Ratio calculator!

Post by Garvey2003 »

Putting it in here as its mechanicalish! :D

I was given an Excel speed sheet a couple of years ago which allowed you to calculator your speed per gear. it also allowed you to change your sprocket sizes and rear tyre size and will show you the results of the speed increase or decrease.
It came in very handy as I could never remember what's the best to do for faster of the line or faster top end.
Being very bored last night I decided to convert this to a web page allowing others to use it. (All the information needed can be gathered from your motorcycle manual. Listed is a Kawasaki zx9r 2001 e1)
here it is:

I am still working on KPH and this is only my first version so still a little rough. Let me know what you think so far. It can be done as a stand a lone version too, so can burn to disc and give it out if you would like it. Almost forgot. this calculation does not include any mods like power commanders, rear cans etc. I am hoping to get some power output figures for theses soon and hopefully will release this on version 2. The other thing I am hoping to do is gather all this information for the bikes and create a database so anyone can come along and select the bike and year without looking up the details in the manual.

Any comments would be very helpful.

Thanks
Garvey
