Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

KTM

Post by Deaks »

I have just bought a KTM superduke 990, black and think its the DB's. the engine is brutal, I can't seem to get past third gear! I love v-twins and this bike is a blast. I challenge anyone to test ride a superduke and say its crap!

Fortune favours the brave and thats where i see KTM.

Where did you get your's from? JD or Albion? Have a look on http://www.superduke.net loads of useful advice - particularly the 'free' 1st/2nd gear retard eliminator (just get used to the bike forst before you unplug that).

Go for the Akras & race re-map if you cam, really brings the bike into it's own. I drag raced mine recently, lined up against a Buell & left it for dead. Took on a new FZ1 Fazer & a 929 Blade & beat them both. 10.6 was my best time which isn't too bad for a multi let alone an unfaired twin!! Certainly raised a few eyebrows.

Deaks – saw a KTM being push along Alphington Road 5-5.30pm last week. Was it you :?:
Sorry if it was, couldn’t stop as was with someone.

Graham – good times – ZX9R seemed to have a lot of problem with the front end :!:

SD still wants to stand up in 1st 2nd & 3rd, not quite like the CR500, you just get used to it.

No it wasn't me pushing the bike thank god, I've only been out on it twice - I don't want to get it dirt!

I got my duke from Albion, was probably the quickest sale they have ever had, I didn't even test ride it, just sat on it and said yes I'll have it. The Akropovics look really good but the cost is high (£1000).

Weather permitting I might be on the ride on Sunday.
