Stainless steel is much harder than even high tensile steel, just try drilling it. Stainless nuts with spring or serrated washers would do the trick but make sure your tighten them to the specified torque. The nylon melted because they're situated next to the block, and i guess stainless being a softer metal didn't help... they vibrated loose (not off though), i've now replaced them with steel nuts & spring washers.
Do i still have to eat my buff?
