Ah thats just Mr Meland on a social visit, Both Managers have Great respect for each other and have Battled hard on track but always been friends off it.
As for the Classic P&M Kawasaki thats Russells latest purchase it was Bernie Tolmans (Jentine racing) back in the day when he was a rider, that compliments the other P&M that Russell owns as Layne can tell you.

...And unfortunately I think that there's a clash between Le Mans and the Classic Bol d'Or this year so we probably won't be running the P&M at the Classic Bol - shame, I was thinking of going to that one this year to see some of the really interesting old Endurance bikes from the days when there was some variety in the paddock, it wasn't just proddy bikes with lights on

The biggest problem Scotty is deveoping the new R1 in time ! although they might do another race with the P&M

Sorry, meant to reply then couldn’t find Chubby’s email.
It was found by Keith, pursued by Chubbs and paid for by Russ (and probably buggered by me). Looked like it was going out of the country so he had to pay over £10500 to get it!!!!
Chubb’s email:
It’s a P&M , frame number 17 .
This is THE famous P&M, ridden to win the World F1 Championship title in `78 by John Cowie . It also had several other spectacularly good results when ridden by Cowie and Toleman in Endurance , including podiums at Le Mans and Spa and others . It was effectively the `Factory` / works backed Peckett & McNab .
The existing bikes paint scheme is copied from this, but 17 is THE actual bike. The Blue and Yellow paint scheme etc and the Peckett & McNab logo down the side; the 17 frame began `78 with “Albion Street Motors , Salford” down the sides , then went on to have Peckett down the side .
It currently has a 1260, Z1000J based motor in it and later mechanical anti dive, also later Astralites when it should have CMA`s. It’s 90% there and can be put back as it was. In my opinion he should keep 17 precious and put the Z1000 motor from the existing bike in it , and the correct CMA`s and remove the anti dive and Astralites . The existing , number 15 frame ( ex MacMillan ) can then be the serious race bike , with Astralites , 1260 / Z1000j motor , anti dive , the lot .
It’s in immeasurably better condition than the old one, when that was dragged out into the daylight and there’s even a few spares.
We’ll have a look at the weekend, but it’s top secret at the moment – the plan is to reveal it to Bernie Toleman in the New Year and I’m talking to MCN who want to feature it . . . . . . Might have to get my fat arse down to Moxhill a few times to work on it in the next few months.

Scotty, no clash, 1 week before as usual. Classic Bol 11th & 12th - Le Mans 18th & 19th.Scotty wrote:...And unfortunately I think that there's a clash between Le Mans and the Classic Bol d'Or this year so we probably won't be running the P&M at the Classic Bol - shame, I was thinking of going to that one this year to see some of the really interesting old Endurance bikes from the days when there was some variety in the paddock, it wasn't just proddy bikes with lights on
Just putts more pressure on as everyone doing both are away for 2 weeks, plus Le Mans has to be packed 1 week early. Not forgetting that WEC is meant to be the priority and P&M is a hobby
So have talked Russ into the Spa Classic (19th – 21st June) if I do 1st week of TT.
http://eng.bikersclassics.be/index.php/ ... ssics/News
Because first TT practice clashes with Osch (30th May) so will need to split the team. And the second TT week ends (13th June) to close to Spa.
Plus Cartagena classic 25th & 26th September is a possibility (but I haven’t told Russ he’s doing that yet

Re: OK then you "Phased Ones"
It was Chubbs who suggested the date clash with le Mans, but like you say, even being a week apart gives major headaches with logistics doesn't it.
Spa Classic you say??? Hmmm, that sounds very interesting, might have to pencil that one into the dairy
