running in yesterday

Post by age »

I put a new engine in the 09R1 Yesterday already for the Qatar race in November. The last engine was 7 hours old when the crank snapped ! (we are not the first by a long way)

then it was down to Me and Tim to take the bike out and run it in on local closed roads

all I can say is WOW what a bike.

The engine is standard apart from the head which has raised compression, kit cams and is polished and flowed. then it has full Ti Akrapovic system and Kit ECU.

It pulls hard in every gear and pulls in any gear of the corners.

The engine feels like it's some where in between the Vee twin and the V4.

Oh having a 10k rear spring in made the ride a bit hard but would have suited Deej !

If I had the money I would buy one without doubt.

I must say sorry to the poor fella on a 125 (who must have been testing his bike on the closed road) as i could not resist blasting past him.  8)

I ran the bike in on the road up to "the Point" before Albacete last year, never thought I'd ride something that would make a ZX-10R feel plush and comfortable, but bouncing along that rough old road I knew I'd found it! Must admit, the Beringer brakes felt awesome, though they'd need a careful touch in the wet...

Mmm, took one out for ½hr down at Magny-Cours to find a water leak a few years ago.
Makes the MV feel like riding an arm chair at normal speeds.
