Updates on Goat, Taz, Angry..............................

Post by Taz2011 »

Ok, seeing as i hoped i would be the first and last to have an Off this year, thought it would fall to me being the duty bound kinda guy i am (!!!!) to write to EVERYONE on this site and beyond. Especially some of the newer riders (irrelevant of your age!!).

When i started talking about my Off with folk, it came to attention that alot of victims were a little misguided when it comes to Off's of any nature - so bore you if i may for a few paragraphs-- :D

Ok, so it's October 2011, and having already been riding for a few years (shhh!) i opted to be legal and go for my direct access Motorbike License - PASSED!! Great, i have the piece of paper, the bike and all legal bits sorted, i left the test centre with mixed emotions, relieved but also with a statement in my head that had been uttered to me;
....you WILL fall off, so be careful

OH CRAP!!

Ok i thought, it the sh1 dos hit the fan, so be it, just take it steady!
Then for the second time since discovering SWB, i was about to go out on another Ride, adrenaline pumping and money packed we all head out to meet everyone....blah blah bit in the middle blah (all fun though!) then as i was approaching a bend in the road, i saw what i thought to be a small animal (it was black and had 2 'eye's staring at me?!!?) in the road, i take all necessary precautions to avoid said thing but low and behold BANG - whoops, surge of adrenaline to pull my baby from the hedge. With the few seconds it took to try to assess damage, it took just as long for the pain, both in my leg and chest, feeling faint i leaned on the bike, at this point i think 3 guys on their bikes came into sight, some help! Great! I'm unsure as to who out of 4 of us were more confused.
MY only advice at this stage is LEAVE THE BIKE! make sure YOU are ok and if not, RING 999!! My 1st, or second...was to ring the RAC then my family!!!!! =)) even if you have them on speed dial on 9 on keypad (yes i have now done this!) the rozzers can still GPRS you!

Sounds funny and hindsight it was but if i had called the 999'ers 1st, i may not have had the collapsed lungs.

So 5 1/2 weeks down the line, a few more Off's, a huge GWS to all of you guys, i'm now out of the cast (plastic boot to save costs) and slowly waddling about, Docs given roughly 2-3 months before the foot is back to ''normal'' and only time will cure the lungs. The bike is still sat on the drive getting washed, then dried then dried and washed, washed and washed again!!! weather eh!! But she'll be back on the road soon as i can hold her weight again.

Ok so end of my tale and again to all those injured lease keep shiny up and i Swear i'll try to too!
HAPPY Riding!! :ymhug: \m/

DIAL 112 it does the same as 999 but they can trace/track your phone easier , that number works all over europe,
