Good old William Woolhead - I recall him doing a very brief report from the Bike Show, must have been at the end of 1987 because he featured the (then) new Honda RC30, describing how it had a "hydraulic clutch" (hardly an innovation in '87), whilst pulling the brake lever, and saying that it had a top speed of "nearly 160mph which, in my opinion, is far too high..." Total flower pot, I bet he wouldn't have said that were he talking about a Ferrari or an Aston, the preserve of the minted, not some motorcycle that any oik could buy (though at £8k in 1988, an RC30 was serious money when an FZR1000 Genesis could be picked up new for less than £5k)

sounds about the same amount of bike knowledge as Clarkson ;) , but I still like him and the programme regardless ! Looks like this series will be having some freestyle trials bike stuff too, can't wait!
