West Bay Bimble - Good Friday

Post by Stinker »

Weather looks ok for Friday so, anyone fancy a mooch down to West Bay for tea/coffee/cake/buns/chips?

Leaving Wincanton Morrisons 10.00am route will be; Sherborne - Dorchester - Weymouth - West Bay - Beaminster - Crewkerne - Yeovil - Wincanton.

Anybody coming from the West and fancy meeting in West Bay for a natter and a catch-up we'll be there by midday. :D

Yep, popular for 'bunny' and 'egg' runs.

Weather is looking good for Fri but a bit grotty thereafter. Sorely tempted but not sure if the hypothermia has fully dissipated.
Have you noticed that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a maniac ?

Stinker, do you know the back road to Beaminster through Broadwindsor?
Bridport to Beaminster road can get quite busy. Go to the bottom of town (Bridport) and turn right to Salwayash and Broadwindsor. At Broadwindsor first right to Beaminster.
Its only a short detour but once clear of Salwayash there's a some nice bends and switch-backs and usually not much traffic.

Will try and get along, if only for chips, a natter and trying to keep up in the second half of play :)): .
Good shout from Gimlet re' getting to Beaminster; here's a further suggestion: from the centre of Beaminster, consider taking the B road northeast that picks up the Toller Down road (A356 Dorchester/Crewkerne), then pick up the original route to Yeovil at Misterton? It's pretty well guaranteed light local trafic only.
Let's :ympray: for some half decent weather.
