Hello from Dawlish
Hello from Dawlish
Hi All,
Moved back to the UK from South Africa about three years ago. I last rode an Aprilia Mille R 15 years ago which I managed to highsided coming out the chicane at Kyalami. The result - my pride and joy was trashed and I broke my back. No worries, I walk today, sort of, and in the process of doing my CBT and direct access to get my license again.
Once that has been done, I will be back on two wheels and joining you on a few rides.
Can't wait.
cheers

Re: Hello from Dawlish
Hello & welcome. There's a ride on the 14th which will be suitable for people on learner bikes, as long as they are capable of the posted speed limits ........
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....
Handle stressful situations like a dog - If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away

Welcome and good luck with the CBT etc.
The August 14th Friendly Rideout will be a great groundbreaker if you can make it. As Mr Moose said, if you can attain the posted speed limits you'll be fine
.
I can't make the rideout
as am still under 'Management Supervision' following an ironwork inplant in my left hip, but perhaps we'll catch up in a few weeks and compare back injuries - I broke mine racing sidecars in 1981 and don't/won't/haven't rode anywhere without a back protector since - it saved me from a wheelchair then #:-sand probably again in 2008
(on public roads this time) - and IMHO should be a legal requirement for road riding as well as racing.
