Any advice on braided hoses& new pads please?
Ive bought some HEL stainless hoses and new EBC pads for my Hornet. I was going to pay to get someone to fit them but the more I look at it the more I feel I can do it. Ive never touched brakes or hoses before and just wondered if anyone could give me any tips? Ive got the Hornet manual so have something to work from.

No. Im expecting to have to drain all the brake fluid, how Im not sure. Then undo the ends with the banjos and then fit the new ones and top up with fluid again.

Not that easy m8.... need to bleed the system... I've got a vacuum hand pump that I do it with... to do mine with pads and hoses properly took at least a good hr if not longer...
You can get 1 way bleed nipples and do it that way to build up the pressure, they are a bit cheeper.
Always good to spend some time giving the calipers a good clean with Brake fluid/WD40 when the calipers are off, many use Copper greese behind the pads, but I find that doesn't work very well, LM greese much better

Crack off banjo bolts an remove and drain out fluid. fit new hoses and bleed the brakes
release one bleed nipple pull in leaver tighten nipple and release lever. keep doing this till all air is out.
It is best to put a length of clear pipe onto nipple so as you can see any air coming out.
when both sides bleed out tape leaver in over night then if there is any air left in the system it will make its way out through to the resevior
WASH ANY SPILT FLUID OFF STRAIGHT AWAY

Thanks gents. I'll start with the rear as that looks easier. Probably do this at the weekend when I can spare plenty of time.

Also what EBC pads you putting in there m8, normal or double HH ???
Just been looking at the pics of your bike ( V.nice
) but looks like you got a pair of two-pots on the front... using EBC Double HH's in them not such a good idea, as they can bite suddenly in the wet and have you off the bike 
(I made this mistake with my gs500!!!)

EBC Kevlar fronts FA226???
Jon, Ive got the Blue Flame twin exit in the garage to fit, and I ended up buying Hagon fork springs that are going in next week. Ive just done an oil and filter change, tomorrow Im changing the coolant, sprockets and got a K&N to fit too. Ive spent nearly a thousand on the little Hornet over the last month!!!

Well, got some help changing the sprockets(Thanks Miler), wow bike flies now!
Many thanks to Blueflier for lending me the hand pump thingy, doesnt that make life a lot easier? All done now, took me a few hours but the brakes are great now.

Can't recommend HEL enough! Went up there today as they have no pattern for my Sprint RS. Simon Lane measure the stock lines and made a pattern. I wanted to single full line fronts instead of one down to the right hand calliper and a short link from the right to left calliper. Orange braided hoses front and rear to match the bike made up in about 20 mins with a great cup of coffee thrown in! A massive 50% discount for the pattern. Fitted them this afternoon. Would have offered to help fit yours but I seen you managed

Hand pump does the job though one of the best pieces of kit I've ever brought worth every penny!
Trick m8 I use Braided Racing, they make them to order out of stainless with whatever bits you require, the copper washers they sell are crap though genuine ones better!

Fitted new rear master cylender on mine today took all of 10 mins from start to finnish, with no fancy pumps
